VeggieTales® Newest Story Helps Kids Find Their Own Gifts
August 12, 2011 No Comments
Finally, a fairytale where the source of beauty comes from within our little girls’ hearts and not from a magic spell.
Tomorrow is the Christian market release of VeggieTales®: Princess and the Pop Star the newest title from Big Idea Entertainment, the studio that produces the faith-based VeggieTales. The general release is August 16th.
As a follow-up to last summer’s smash Sweetpea Beauty, this princess tale explores Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in your mother’s body, I chose you. Before you were born, I set you apart to serve me.”
One of the most important lessons for a child is to become accepting of himself or herself, becoming comfortable in his or her own skin and understanding his or her purpose in life. Often that takes decades but this sweet DVD helps plant that seed of understanding and acceptance. It shows that each of us was created by God and given special talents no one else has. We need to explore and discover these talents in our journey of life.
No fairy godmother is going to come along and magically bestow these gifts upon us so we need to find this within ourselves and this story helps talk about that.
Princess Poppyseed lives on a farm, a world away from her pop star idol, Vanna Banana. When the two happen to meet at a playground and see how similar they look, they decide to switch lives. Of course, once each girl understands the new life doesn’t fulfill her dreams, they both realize God’s plan for their lives really is the best course.
The DVD also contains extra features including audio commentary, a Silly Song Sing-Along “Astonishing Wigs” and the end credits song “You Never Are” sung by Grammy-nominated artist Francesca Battistelli.
The movie runs 49 minutes and contains English and Spanish subtitles and full and widescreen versions. Please find out more about this amazing new movie at www.veggietales.com.
