The White House for Kids
February 27, 2003 No Comments
Yesterday we looked at a site for young visitors that explained how our Congress worked. Today we look as a site that visits the home of the President of the United States, George W. Bush, and how his job is performed.
Called The White House for Kids, this site explores the home of the President, and along the way, explains what it is he does. Here you can find out about our past Presidents, the hard choices they had to make, and what it is like to be the most powerful freely elected official in the world. You can meet the White House pets, Barney the Scottish Terrier, Spotty the English Springer, Ofelia the Longhorn (he lives in Texas), and India the house cat. You can even see life here through the eyes of Barney through the “Barney-cam”.
The President has a very tough and important job. Sometimes he has to make choices that can have long ranging impact on how our country lives. At this site you will be able to begin to understand how those choices are made.
