The Smothers Brothers

Recent entertainment trends have given way to a lot of original material from the 1960′s becoming popular. Note movies such as “McHale’s Navy”, “The Addam’s Family”, and the cable network Nickelodeon’s TVLand. But one of the most original leftovers from that decade just haven’t gone away, they are still here, and today they are the focus of our daily FamSite.
The Smothers Brothers had one of the most original television variety shows in the 1960′s. I still remember them premiering a new Beatles’ song called “Hey Jude”, performed by the Beatles. Their witty humor and cutting edge, no, make that bleeding edge satire made them very popular with the public, but not the network brass. But they have managed to put together a very good stage act that is extremely entertaining for all ages. Here you can find out about the brothers (and maybe which one mom really did like best). You can find out about the latest happenings with “The Yo-yo Man” as well as visiting their Remick Ridge Vineyards.
The brothers have had an interesting and varied life. A stop here is truly an interesting and worthwhile visit.
