The People History

I love history. If there’s nothing to watch on the idiot box, I’m liable to just settle on the History Channel, or one of its clones. I’ve always been fascinated by the past, and if I happen to remember the events, personally, that makes it even better.
As you are probably painfully aware, I have my own daily-updated site at http://www.irememberjfk.com. It’s all about my own Baby Boomer memories.
But today’s FamilyFirst site takes a much broader view of the past. Specifically, it covers the years from 1920 on. It’s called The People History. Here’s their mission:
The People History is a site dedicated to preserving our memories for future generations. Many of the things we accept as part of our way of life did not exist just 30 years ago, and many of the events that occurred before the coming of the Internet are well documented historically but do not have many memories from the people who lived through those events and changes. As each generation passes more memories will be lost and we hope with this site to create a social history.
So this site gives YOU the chance to contribute your own memories. And they are quite organized.
For instance, you can see what car prices were during the various eras. Or, you can home in on a particular year and see just what happened. And you can peruse the memories of folks who were there.
It’s a lot of fun, and quite addictive.
