It has reference material stretching all the way back to 1892, when it lists a total of four films. Once you have located that film, there is a wealth of information on it, more than you could ever want to know. It gives a plot summary, a full plot, a Maltin summary, cast and crew credits. It lists foreign films, as well as television shows and movies. The number of films listed is incredible, starting with the previously mentioned four in 1892 to a total of 4699 in the 1998 database.
