The Internet Archive

The RIAA and MPAA would have you believe that if you download ANY music or movies without throwing some money their way, you’re breaking the law.
Hogwash.
Today’s FamilyFirst site lets you download live concert mp3′s from the likes of Warren Zevon, Blues Traveler, Grateful Dead, and many other famous artists, as well as a plethora of independents eager to be heard.
Additionally, you can download many hours of feature films, television episodes, and shorts.

Do you prefer reading material? Thousands of manuscripts, screenplays, treatises, essays, poetry, and more are here for your pleasure.
It’s all absolutely FREE, and absolutely LEGAL!
The material is either expired copyright and thus in the public domain, or it has been contributed by the artists or copyright holders.
And the greedy MPAA and RIAA get zilch when you download!
Sound intriguing? The site is the Internet Archive. Their mission is short and sweet:
The Internet Archive is building a digital library of Internet sites and other cultural artifacts in digital form. Like a paper library, we provide free access to researchers, historians, scholars, and the general public.
Browse the thousands upon thousands of pieces of material that is available for your pleasure. While you’re there, enjoy the Wayback Machine, and see what websites looked like in their infancy.
Note: this site is like a public library. If you search for it, you may well find un-family-friendly fare. But do you keep your kids out of the library because not every book in there is for them? Supervise your kids if they visit here.
