The Great American Net Test
April 9, 1998 No Comments
So you think you know everything there is to know about the Internet. You can decipher any URL, explain the meaning of .com, .org, and .edu with your eyes closed. Then today’s Famsite is one that is looking for you.
Sponsored by MCI, it is the home of The Great American Net Test. Here you can explore and test your knowledge of not only how well you can surf the web, but you can…test…uh, you knowledge as well. You select one of five categories, such as History or Pop Culture, and answer the questions by researching them. For example, my first history question was “How many steps are in the Washington Monument?” You are then transported to several search engines, and the adventure begins.
This is a fun site; one designed not only to exercise your mind, but your fingertips as well. It is fun for the whole family, and some good spirited competition that can find your final score recorded for posterity on the net. Have some good fun, surfer dudes.
