The Design Museum

When you think about it, much of our life is greatly influenced by artistic designers.
These talented, unheralded individuals work in the background to produce the designs behind the products you use, from the most mundane soap dish to the $100,000 Beamer you might have parked in your garage.
When they do it right, the result is something that we value for its utilitarian use as well as its artistic assets.
Today’s FamilyFirst site is the official one of London’s Design Museum. Here’s their mission:

The Design Museum is one of the world’s leading museums of modern and contemporary design with a mission to excite everyone about design. Since its foundation in 1989, the museum has won international acclaim for exhibitions on modern design history and contemporary design, for Designer of the Year — the UK’s pre-eminent design prize — and for championing new design talent. The Design Museum celebrates design’s richness and diversity and its power to enhance daily life by exploring innovation and excellence in every area of design from industrial design, graphics and multimedia, to fashion and architecture.
At press time, Formula One racing design was being highlighted. You can view movies about the design of Renault’s R25 racer. You can also get a slick Formula One screensaver.
Other online exhibitions featured were My World: The New Subjectivity in Design as well as designing Modern Britain.
So whet your artistic appetite and enjoy today’s FamilyFirst site dedicated to the subject of design.
