The Brady Bunch The Complete First Season

The 1970′s was a different time in our country. The post-Vietnam, pre-Watergate time frame was an awakening of social awareness by a great many people, and the effects are still with us today. Television shows such as “All In The Family” and “Good Times” redefined what we watched on the boob tube, and how the media responded to those new definitions. Today’s Family First Site salutes a program that was a major hit during that time, and has risen to cult status with the current generation.
The show was (and is) “The Brady Bunch”. I would bet that everyone, at one time or another, has seen at least one epsiode of this program. And if you haven’t, then you can now indulge in a commercial-free run of the first season, all on DVD, and in the comfort of your own living room. But there is more to the site than just the DVD. There is a photo gallery, where you can trace some of the memorable scenes of the series, as well as a trailer showing some highlights of the show. There is a sack race game, where you can control your favorite Brady in a potato sack race against other family members.
The Brady Bunch was a reflection of the changing values not only on television, but in society as well. It was one of the last shows with family values that reflected post-WW II America concept of the middle class. In just a few short years, shows would feature single mothers, singles living together, subjects that reflected what viewers dealt with every day. But that is what some of the charm of the Brady Bunch is, the fantasy that there is a perfect world somewhere, and that all problems can be solved in thirty minutes. Maybe that is why it is still so popular in today’s world.
