Back in the days before the Internet (yes, there was such a time), back before there were even computers, the major form of communication was the written and printed word. Books, magazines, newspapers all contributed to the spread of information. But in the 1930’s, with our country in the depths of The Great Depression, President Roosevelt took steps to not only overcome that depression, but also to help create some lasting monuments to how it was overcome.
