About: 80’s Music

I was in the midst of greatness. I just didn’t realize it at the time.
I’m speaking of the 80’s era.
I guess one of the problems with me recognizing a great era at the time was the exposure to the music I received. I was working construction, and I was at the mercy of whoever had the jobsite radio. Most of the time, the most popular station was strictly Top 40. That meant lots of dreck by Styx, Foreigner, Loverboy, and other marginally talented masters of formulaic power pop.
But the fact is that the 80’s were a great musical era for heavily-synthesizer-driven melodies by groups like Simple Minds, Tears for Fears, Spandau Ballet, and many others.
