The brand new VeggieTales® website (www.veggietales.com) is now live and ready to help teach your kids about the VeggieTales values.

This is a new website for them offering story books, character pages, Bible verses, video clips, take away activities, e-cards and much more.

It’s a busy week for the VeggieTales crew – besides their website, they also are releasing their Easter movie “’Twas the Night Before Easter” and their new musical CD “Hosanna.”

You can learn more about your favorite character, play football, sing songs, shop for veggie swag, all while learning the VeggieTales mission – to show kids They are Special and God Loves Them.

The site, which launched yesterday, March 1, 2011, is the first site exclusively dedicated to the VeggieTales. Until now, their parent company site, Big Idea Entertainment, was the portal for all things Veggie.

“We developed VeggieTales.com with our current fans in mind, but we hope the website excites and endears a new group of VeggieTales enthusiasts as well,” said Leslie Ferrell, General Manager of Big Idea Entertainment. “We will continue to add fresh content to the site each month, making it a unique and exciting experience for visitors every time they return. We hope you’ll join Larry the Cucumber, Bob the Tomato, Petunia Rhubarb,Junior Asparagus and the rest of the Veggie bunch at our new home!”

Larry the Cucumber greets visitors on the homepage and helps you navigate the site. With a super simple and free log-in, you can create your child’s own “My Room” where he or she can pick décor, accessories, their favorite character and scripture art. Additionally, a site highlight will be “The Daily Word,” hosted by Qwerty, where a new Bible verse and short devotional for kids will be posted each day and voiced by a different VeggieTales character.

(It took quite a while to write this story. My young son kept asking to go back to the site to have a look around.)

The site also includes links for parents, churches and schools as well a link to the VeggieTales shop, offering over 500 awesome products.  Take few minutes to check it out at www.veggietales.com.
