Fish Aquarium Tips

When setting up a new fish aquarium, NEVER EVER setup the tank and purchase the fish in the same day. The tank needs time to cycle. By this, I mean it is important that the chemicals have time to balance and bacteria need to be present in order to maintain healthy fish. This takes some time. At least allow for a few days before adding fish. And never, add more then a few at a time. This can throw off the balance in the tank and kill the fish.
When purchasing the equipment for a tank, don’t be afraid to ask questions. Everyone has their own preference as far as filters and equipment goes. Asking others how they have their tank set up and what filters they have can prevent you from trying different types of pumps and wasting your money. In the beginning I wasted money on some cheaper pumps and had to deal with a mess with they stopped working and leaked all over the floor.
Save yourself loads of stress and aggrivations by reading more on this site before you go to the pet store to buy your aquarium. Learn what kind of filters and how big of a tank you should get. Learn what kind of fish work best. How much and how often to feed.

Neil Young Announces His “Newest” Realease

Neil Young. How privileged every generation is that has experienced him.
I hate to write anything about him, because i have featured him innumerable times in selecting FamilyFirst sites over the many years that i have been doing this gig.
But I was just made aware of this particular announcement, so it’s here, a few days after the actual fact.
Neil has just announced the release of his life’s work on Blu-Ray, in state-of-the-art video and sound quality.
But, as the Ginsu knife commercials say, there’s more!

Learn Hebrew

(Ed. note: I posted this review a few days back with a bad URL. So I’m reposting now, so you can click on the now-working link!)
The variety of languages that we speak is staggering. Some of them obviously have the same root, so their similarity to related languages can be readily observed. For example, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Italian have a common Latin ancestor, and the result is that if you are fluent any any of those tongues, learning the other three is relatively easy.
Similarly, while heavily influenced by Latin, the English tongue is actually descended from German. English speakers find learning German a strangely natural experience.

The New Yahoo!

Well, they’ve been hinting at it for a while. The new look is finally here.
Today’s unlikely FamilyFirst site is the venerable Yahoo!
In my internet infancy, Yahoo! rocked. That’s because they offered lots of content with little fluff and advertising.
Well, lots of weird scenes took place inside the gold mine after that (and if you don’t get the Doors reference there, for Pete’s sake, explore a little classic rock;-), and the next thing you know, Yahoo! Is being accused of becoming the bloated mess that the other search engines had allegedly become during the directory’s heyday.
