Through the miracle of modern science and medicine, we are doing more to improve the quality and length of life in the world today. The quality of care, the type and variety of medicines, and the miracle of miracle, the ability to transplant from one body to another the gift of life. Today’s Family First Site looks at a site that furthers the message of the latter.
One of the benchmarks I have used when looking for sites for the Family First Site of the Day is the edutainment factor that it has. That means sites that are both entertaining as well as educational. It is easy for site to be fun to visit and play at, but visitors don’t learn much. It is also easy for sites to be educational but be so boring a person could fall asleep while visiting them (much like reading a history or math text book). Today’s site is one that has a high edutainment factor, made better with the latest Flash technology.
Today’s Family First Site is one that is really a no-brainer, from my perspective. I usually spend some time hunting for sites that are wide-ranging, interesting, and can appeal to a wide variety of cyber visitors. On some occassions, it is hard, and some times it is very easy. Today’s site is one that I have been using for quite awhile, and I just never thought about sharing it until a friend asked me a question. I have seen the movie “Parenthood” many, many times. That is a film about what it is like to be a parent. It is a light-hearted look at parenting, but the underlying message is serious. It is very difficult to be a mother or a father, especially in today’s society, where everyone seems to know more about raising your children than you do (and do not hesitate to tell you so). Being a father is especially tough, at least it was (and still is) for me. Today’s Family First Site is one that provides excellent resources for anyone who is a father, is going to be a father, or is trying their very best to be a father.
