When I was a kid, I was big into building stuff.
I had Lincoln Logs, Tinkertoys, Krazy Ikes, Legos, and a Gilbert Erector Set. I loved creating things, then taking them apart. In the case of Lincoln Logs, oftentimes its disassembly would be by means of an imaginary tornado or bomb attack.
There’s something about construction toys that appeal to boys, and to many girls, too. Many of these kids go on to careers involving constructing things.
