FLASH-CRASH-BANG-BOOM-KER POW !!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, this isn’t a flash back to the Batman television show of the 1960′s. No, it isn’t a visit to the set of the latest Jackie Chan film either. But it is a Hollywood-oriented site that we will be visiting today.

The site, the Stuntmen Association of Motion Pictures, is devoted to the men in movies that make the impossible seem possible, all without the aid of special effects. Or with minimal special effects, I should say. At this site, you can learn whom the members of the association are, what films and television shows they are involved with, find out about the history of the group, and buy some souvenirs.

This is an interesting site with some interesting links as well. A visit here can open up your eyes to how movies are made. Enjoy the trip.

    In doing some research this week I came across this link. I also noted an obituary for co-founder Bobby Hoy, Stuntmen's Assn of Motion Pictures, 1961. Hoy was 82 and died Feb in 2010. My condolences to his family. I created and produced the first official Stuntmen's Assn Membership card when there were probably no more than three dozen members. Then president, Bob Herron, selected me to design and produce the cards, making me, Johnny Bachelor, an Honorary Member and the very first card struck. Each card was hand struck on a letterpress with the member's name in gold imprint. I still have the original around here somewhere. To this day, being a 'card-carrying' member, I lay claim to being able to (even at my age) fall down in style. Help preserve our history. Johnny Bachelor
