If you are looking for ways to save time and money on your grocery shopping, you will want to check out Shopping Nanny (www.shoppingnanny.com) for a one-stop site for both.

With ways to build your own shopping list – with corresponding coupons – to finding deals at your favorite local stores, you will start saving immediately.

No more pouring through the Sunday paper for all those coupons. No more pacing the aisles of the grocery store to find what’s on sale.

When you’re building your shopping list, it will find coupons for you based on what you’ve entered. For example, I entered “cheese” with my corresponding zip code and it popped up with 9 different cheese coupons and specials – with the brand, size, price, expiration date of the deal and any specific store it was for.

It can even build a pre-populated weekly shopping list for you based on how big your family is. It automatically pops in typical items and their quantities. You can modify or delete specific items, based on your family’s eating habits, and save for use every week.

When you are finished making your list and hit “print list and coupons,” it will automatically add any electronic deals to your store shopping card as well as print your list and any printable coupons you will need.

You can also choose to have the list sent to an email account so you have it on your smartphone.

Shopping Nanny also offers a monthly shopping list, if that works better for your shopping needs as well as special lists, such as side dish recipes or Autumn Fest recipes (or other seasonal lists) that are generated from the “Forum” section, for easy shopping.

If you have a specific stores or specific items you are looking for deals on, you can go to the “Find Deals” tab and either scroll through the specials or search on a term or a specific store.  You can then sort the search results by Highest Value, Store and Expiration Date.

In your profile, you enter your zip code (so relevant deals are what you see), your family data including pet information, your credit card information for the minimal monthly fee, the stores you prefer, shopping information such as what types of coupons you like and what specifics you are looking for in deals – like gluten-free, kosher, value size, ready to serve, etc.

In your profile you can also set up alerts to be sent to your cell phone or your email when new coupons are added based on the amount the coupons will save you.

They will also soon offer a “gift” option which will give you the opportunity to purchase gift cards through Shopping Nanny.

Shopping Nanny’s Frequently Asked Questions answers why they charge for this service ($5.95/month which you will definitely get back within a week or two of using the service). They have no sponsorships from specific stores, to push certain deals on you.

Also, they do not resell your information to any other sites so you can feel good about your personal data staying where it is. These are ways the free shopping sites typically make money.

Shopping Nanny also offers How To videos to help you get going, a discussion forum to ask and answer questions as well as a blog which profiles specials and recipes.  Shopping Nanny also contributes a portion of monthly membership fees to the Starlight Children’s Foundation (www.starlight.org) to help seriously-ill children.
