Now, before you think the family-oriented Family First site has gone totally off the wall and gone goth on everyone, please read on. Today’s site is one that I found in our local Portland Oregonian newspaper on Wednesday of this last week. They gave it such a good review that I thought it would be a great site for Halloween. Oh, and by the way, the Roots in the title of the site, that is the family name of the people who designed and maintained the site. I guarantee you this is one Halloween site that deserves an A+ for originality.
The site is called Roots of All Evil.com, and is a site that looks at haunted sites in the local Portland Oregon area. Roots Of All Evil delight in annual October expeditions to haunted sites near and far in their quest for the best Halloween entertainment. Their varying ages and backgrounds (including that of parents), provide them with insight into what is desirable in an attraction with respect to a variety of criteria, including age appropriateness, type of attraction, and advice on levels of horror tolerance/thrill thresholds. As connoisseurs of all things Halloween, they seek to provide honest assessments and accurate ratings for ones Halloween horror pleasure. There are party suggestions, to ensure a good time is had by all. If you need a good spooky story for late at night, they suggest stopping by the myths and legends page. There an especially good section on Halloween safety, with suggestions from costume design to safe trick-or-treating, and what do to with all the candy once the little ones have it.
Halloween can be a fun time for all ages. This site shows what a family can do together to enjoy it, how they have enjoyed it over the years, and how they utilize Internet technology to share it with everyone. Right now they are concentrating on Oregon and SW Washington. But they have plans to branch out. So stop by, check out the site, and be sure to join their mailing list.
