Poetry4Kids

Poetry, when I was growing up, was a bother. It was tough enough learning to read, but having to read something that rhymed? What a pain. But as I grew older, I learned to appreciate that sort of literature, mostly thanks to a guy named Shakespeare. Today’s Family First Site is for kids that haven’t discovered the rthym in rhyming yet, but would like to. It’s not as bad as it seems.

It is called Poetry4Kids, and is a pleasant collection of poems on a variety of subjects. Created by Kenn Nesbitt, there are funny poems, a rhyming dictionary, poetry games, and even lessons about how you can write your own poems. The author has used internet technology to stream MP3 audio recordings of his own poems. There are links to other kids-related poem sites, and a monthly poetry writing contest. There is a forum section, so you can share information and ideas with other authors or would-be authors.
This is a cute site, with a lot of potential for entertainment value. Take a trip here, and enjoy the poems. Remember, William Shakespeare had to get his start somewhere.

I think Kenn Nesbitt is a good poet. He writes good poems esepcially his funny ones. My favorite are Alphabet Break,SwimmingOol, and Our Mother's At A Meeting.
