Pixel Ads

Today’s familyFirst site is called WorldVillage Pixel Ads.
Now I know, advertising on the net may start your stomach churning. After all, spammers have given advertising a BIG black eye.
But this site offers two things: amazingly cheap ad space ($50.00 for TWO YEARS!), and a fascinating browsing experience for you, the advertisee.
The ads are small. In fact, sponsors purchase blocks of pixels in 10 x 10 format. But as you browse over the ads, a pop-up appears with more details about the sponsor’s site. It’s actually a lot of fun just to browse this site for the novelty.
It’s a bit addictive, to be honest with you.
And it’s also a way for small-budgeted businesses to get some advertising space, as well as a primo link to enhance your search engine rating.
WorldVillage Pixel Ads has a few things going for it that other pixel sites don’t have. First, Worldvillage has been around since 1995 and is consistently in the top 10,000 most popular sites on the web. Next, the mouse over pop up advertisement is very innovative and I’ve not seen it done before. Finally, compared to other online advertising, this has got to be the cheapest and most creative form I have seen.
Imagine the possibilities. You can advertise your site. You can buy a gift for your husband, wife or kids. You can promote your eBay store. You can put a picture of your dog or cat (just for fun). Really, the possibilities are endless!
So there you go. Don’t be surprised if you see an ad for Northwest Arkansas Information up there soon.
