New Company Makes Going Organic So Cute

This little piggy went to market…this little piggy stayed home…and this little piggy goes organic! That’s the name of a brand new website providing certified organic clothing to your little bundles of joy.
This Little Piggy Goes Organic (www.thislittlepiggygoesorganic.com) launched in September 2011 in an effort to offer creatively-designed clothing for young children that’s not boring or basic.
According to owner/founder Victoria Moore Bauman, the California-based website is founded on the Bauman’s combination of a love of clean, green living and a long-standing love of pigs.
“My inspiration for creating This Little Piggy grew out of my own commitment to practically living organically and a desire to share a really simple, pure, and organic lifestyle for mothers and their babies,” says Bauman.
Her love of pigs began, according to the site’s Storybook page, when Bauman was given a huge stuffed plush pig as a gift on her 5th birthday. That evolved to visiting baby pigs at county fairs and many years of pig calendars.
Now, the love has transferred to her business. Bauman says her favorite product for babies is the organic onesie because “it is the simplest way for a mother to assure that her baby’s first layer of clothing is organic, pure, and safe.”
Bauman is a Certified Natural Health Professional, so she knows about organic products and understands the processes that go into producing them. She says all their suppliers are certified by SKAL, a global certification that a product and its manufacturing process are organic, and the products meet the standards set by GOTS, Global Organic Textile Standards, which assure that products are 100% organic and that minimum social criteria are met during growing and manufacturing.
Currently, the site offers two full lines that include a short-sleeved onesie, a long-sleeved onesie, pants and a knit hat. They have plans to eventually offer “baby basics,” products for moms and, very soon, toys just in time for the holidays too.
This month’s “Feature of the Month” marks the launch of their newest collection called Kaleidoscope - “What a Hoot” is a long-sleeved brick red onesie with an ochre owl.
At this time, the products are also offered in a few boutiques in California or on-line. To find out more, see their Facebook page and follow them on twitter, please check out the website at www.thislittlepiggygoesorganic.com.
