National Association of Child Advocates

Child abuse is growing every day in this country. It is an ugly fact of life, but is true nonetheless. Every city, county, and state have programs to help combat this problem. Drug abuse, overpopulated, underfunded educational systems, violence, the list goes on and on. It is very difficult time to be growing up in this country.
Today’s FamSite is from an organization that is trying to help stem the tide of the problems besetting our young one. It is the National Association of Child Advocates. It is the only national organization that works to develop and sustain local advocacy groups for children. It is the unified voice of front line agencies and groups that are working for the safety, education, health and security of our children. Founded in 1984, they have grown to have 51 member organizations in 39 states. Although they don’t provide services to individuals, they are very active in community based agencies. Sharing ideas, trading information, and helping plan strategy accomplish this. They have tremendous resources available, and can help in being both a clearinghouse and providing organizational development assistance.
Visit here, and see what this organization is all about. Then you can be more informed about their activities in your local neighborhood. In the words of a bumper sticker I have seen in our town, it is time to think globally and act locally. Yes, indeed.
