How to Take Care of Your Books

Books contain a lot of valuable information that even the next generation can take advantage of. Even though one can get so many ebooks from the internet, it is still not a reason not to take care of your books. As parents you must teach the following tricks to your kids in how to take care of their books as well.
First, you must cover the books with acetate especially the paper cover books. This is to protect them from accidental tear and folding. This will protect the cover the books from accidental cutting or spillage of inks and other liquids. Covering your books with acetate extend the life of your favorite books.
Place your books in a cool and dry place. Remember that your books are made with paper and they are prone to the elements. Avoid bring your books in places where there are liquids. Be careful also in placing beverages like juice, water, ink and other liquids that might accidentally spill on your favorite books. If you can afford, make a storage area dedicate to your books alone.
Use your books properly if you want them to last longer. Turn the pages gently as you browse through the pages. If you browse roughly, you might accidentally tear the pages. Use a bookmark instead of folding the pages to mark your progress. Avoiding writing in the pages also. Remember that the books are not only for you. These books can be handed down to the next generation and they will not appreciate the books if they are full of vandalisms.
