How to Get Out of a Cell Phone Contract
August 23, 2008 No Comments
About five years ago, I had an extremely unpleasant experience with Cingular.
I signed what I was led to believe was a two-year contract with the. Two years later, I called to cancel it.
That’s when I was informed that I had another year to go.
I know, my fault. I didn’t read what I signed. I was instead misled by some slimebag who is probably selling used cars for some pay-by-the-week outfit now. But I had to pay up 150 bucks to stop doing business with them forever.
They are now owned by AT&T. I avoid them, too. As long as the Cingular name continues to exist, I will avoid whatever company owns them.
How can you keep this deep resentment from forming? By getting out of a contract via loopholes.
Loopholes are not just for lawyers and slimeball businessmen. They are for you too, if you are smart enough to use them.
Watch the nine minute video at today’s FamilyFirst pick and learn how to get out of a Verizon contract. It will likely work with any other carrier as well.
You’ll have to be politely persistent on the phone with a representative, but it will be worth it.
Oh, and avoid Cingular at all costs
