How to Design an Advertising Campaign
June 22, 2010 No Comments
It has been said that customers decide to buy a product based on their perception of the product and not on the actual product itself. The key is in promoting the idea that the product in question fulfills a specific need. As a business, how do you do this? The answer is with advertising that is both creative and effective. Your ads need to be successful in order to work. Here are a few steps to follow to help you design advertising campaigns that are effective every time.
Choose Your Objective
What are you trying to accomplish with this ad campaign? How do you want your ideal customers to see your company and your products when it is all over? Make sure you know exactly what you wish to do before you get started, otherwise you will just waste time and effort.
Determine Your USP
Your USP is your Unique Selling Point and it is the thing that makes your product stand out from your competitors’ and it is what will ultimately appeal to people and make them want to buy from you. Make sure you have a firm grasp on your USP and use it to your advantage in your ads.
Pick Your Medium
Decide which advertising avenue to travel with an eye toward your product and its customers. For example, there is little sense in placing an ad for a new piece of software in a traditional print publication such as a newspaper when your target market probably all get their news online anyway. Think this through before you begin.
Brainstorm
Once you have completed the above steps, it is time to brainstorm the best ad for this campaign. This is the fun part. Let your creative juices flow, and sit back and watch what comes out!
