How Stuff Works
December 13, 2003 No Comments
Have you wondered just how that cell phone you are using everyday really works? Or how the ice in an ice rink gets cold? And how it stays that way? Are you a naturally inquisitive person? If so, then today’s Family Site will be of special interest to you.
Called How Stuff Works, this site tries to explain how some of the more common items in our everyday world function. Some of the subject areas include automotive, electrical, music, health and nutrition; the list goes on and on. Each area is further subdivided, such as music, which features such diverse areas as MP3 and how guitars work. There are Top 10 areas for the most requested articles, and most asked questions (yes, you can ask questions here as well). There is also an excellent search engine, and a free online newsletter that can be emailed to you.
So if you have ever wondered how a helicopter flies, or how to set the time on your VCR, this is the site for you. Be sure to bookmark it, as it will be a great one to come back to again and again.
Family Site of the Day is interested in sites that you, our valued readers, are interested in. If you have a favorite site, or one that has special meaning to you, and you would like to share with others, feel free to email me at rlc7254@comcast.net and we will look at using that site in future site of the day.
