Hoover Dam Visitor Center

I was watching television the other night, and was intrigued by a program that documented one of the most massive public works projects ever undertaken. It still remains to this day, and is familiar to almost everyone. It is called Hoover Dam.

Today’s FamSite visits the Hoover Dam Visitors Center Homepage, where you can find out more about this massive wall of concrete located on the border of Nevada and Arizona. Here you can learn about the history of the dam, take a virtual tour it, find out information about taking a live tour in person if you visit there (including a special “hard hat” tour). This is a very informative and educational site, and underscores the importance of efficiently production electricity in our nation.
