Game Shows ’75

Every so often a site comes along that begs for attention from the Family Site of the Day. This tribute to daytime gamesmanship tells just about every game show that aired in 1975, a high watermark year for television tackiness, complete with particulars about how each one was created, played, and won.

Old favorites like the “Hollywood Squares” and “The Price Is Right”

appear on the list, but the real treats are such infamous shows such as “Give-n-Take”, a show that all of three months and hasn’t been heard from since. Other notable

gaming wonders featured include “The Magnificent Marble Machine”, a show

that featured middle-aged celebrities like Joan Rivers struggling

to “play” a giant pinball machine. Contestants on the curious

“Showoff” could be found wearing red or blue turtleneck sweaters

with their names on the front while pantomiming clues to their

nattily attired teammates. You’ll even see some familiar faces in

unfamiliar roles. Anyway you spin it, this site is a jackpot (and I don’t mean three devils).

Enjoy your visit here today, and come back often.
