Flag Day in the United States of America

By the time you read this column, my Flag Day duty will be over, half way. I volunteered to help my son’s Boy Scout troop put out flags for this holiday. Starting the day at 5:30am is not something I look forward to, especially when it is a day that sleeping in is an option.

Flag Day in the United States is a site that gives information on this holiday, one of the lesser known ones, but important none the less for what it represents. Here you can learn the meaning of the flag, as well as how to display it, and when and where it should be displayed. There are some links here to other sites that expound on the meaning of the flag, and for what it stands for.

The flag is the symbol of our country. It may sound corny or out dated, but men have given their lives for over 200 years so that we may enjoy the freedoms we have today. Understanding what it stands for goes to the heart of what it means to be a citizen of this country. Enjoy the information on this site.
