Discovering the roots of one’s family can be both fun and frustrating at the same time. Fun, in that you learn about where your family came from, and frustrating in that it can be time consuming. But today’s Family First Site is on that can make that search a little less frustrating and a lot more fun.
Called FamilySearch, this site is an online catalog of over 400 million names, records, resources and web sites that can help you find where your family came from. Sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, there is just one word to describe the material you will find here: MASSIVE! With a little patience and web searches, you will be discovering things that you never knew before. On my second search for my grandfather, I found an ancestral index and eleven associated web sites.
Not every person or name will be here. But this site is an excellent resource for anyone who is interested in genealogical research of any sort. Be sure to bookmark it and pass it on.
