Does Your Site Attract Mobile Users?

As more and more people access the Internet from their mobile devices, it is becoming increasingly important as a website owner to have a website that is mobile optimized. This is not nearly as daunting as it sounds. With just a few adjustments, you can make sure that the visitors to your site who are on their mobile devices have just as good of a user experience as someone visiting it from a desktop or laptop.
First of all, it is a good idea to eliminate any Adobe Flash from your site. Most mobile devices have a hard time reading Flash. Also, you will probably want to do some browser redirection / detection so that those people who are using mobile browsers are directed to a different version of your site, one that is stripped of any unnecessary code, features, or graphics, and is optimal for those users to read.
You may also want to look into a free service like jqtouch.com, which will provide a stable development platform for your mobile optimized website, creating compatibility with people using mobile devices.
If mobile optimization is not something that is on your radar, then it should be. Otherwise you are just shutting out those users who choose to access your site from their mobile device.
