For now, you should be wondering why there are many parents who have tried home schooling instead of enrolling their kids in private and public schools. The reason of course is simple. There may be some issues in school that have been addressed in home schooling. However, there are also issues in home schooling that are addressed in the school setup. What really is the difference between the two methods of teaching today’s generation?
In the school, the ratio is one teacher to many students. The number of students actually is not fixed. There are those who handle up to twenty kids while there are cases where there are thirty kids under one teacher. In home schooling, the ratio is one is to one. There could be cases where it could become two to one but not greater than five is to one. There are many advantages to this. One is that the teacher can closely monitor the pace of the students, their needs and their progress so that he can adjust the lessons accordingly. In the school setup, this may not be the case.
Since there are twenty or more students to one teacher, it is not practical to adjust the lessons just so one student can catch up while the others are learning the lessons quickly. In other words, the lessons has to go on as long as the majority of the students are able to learn it. This is the reason why there are parents who prefer home schooling and school.
