As we approach the holiday season, we will all be trying to find that perfect gift, the one that combines the feeling of the season without costing an arm and a leg. But sometimes the inexpensive route isn’t always the best. Sometimes it is. Comparison-shopping can be worthwhile, but during the rush, rush, rush of the holidays, who has the time?

Well, today’s FamSite will try and help. Our featured site allows one to compare over 12,000 products from the comfort of one’s computer screen. Called Consumer’s Digest Online, it is a site that allows prospective buyers to compare items over the Internet. From such diverse areas as electronics, household items, physical fitness, automotive and finances; the information contained here is presented without bias, and wholly to inform the purchaser. Using a simple click and point interface it is very easy to navigate this site, and find the information about, say, that new VCR you were looking at, or if you are tying to decide to buy a new or used vehicle.

This is a great site to use not only at Christmas, but the year round. Be sure to sign up for their newsletter and bookmark this site.

I have a 2003 Audi A6 3.0L front wheel drive. I was driving it one day when I came to a stop and when I tried to go the car would not move. The engine didn't rev or anything when I steped on the gas. I think it has something to do with the CVT transmission but do not want to replace this expensive part that is hard to come by if that is not the problem. Has anyone heard of this before? any insight would be appreciated!!!

I would like to talk to dr Len Vinci about his '02 Audi transmission problems. I have the same issue now and have been told that it may be as simple as a computer chip reset. Please contact me if you can. Or anyone else that may know about the Audi shifting problem. Thank you.

Apparently the water system's by Aquasana .com were mentioned in your magasine 3 years in the role for best systems and best buys. If so when was that and where can I see the info? Thank you!

I have a 2002 1.8 CVT and have been on Audi's case since 2002 about the hesitation. When it is hot outside (over 90F) the hesitation is about 3 seconds. Audi refuses to recognise the problem. Any idea if a computer chip would fix the problem?

Would appreciate any information you might have on Audi's CVT, Multitronic transmissions. I have a 2002 A6 3.0 with this transmission and have had several near accidents because of a hesitation....once even complete loss of power....when pulling on to a freeway onramp, or turning across on coming traffic at a stop light. Audi will not recognize this problem because they cannot duplicate it. Please let me know if you have had any similar complaints. Thank you! Len Vinci
