Connect Time

Sometimes the best web sites are ones that are simple in concept, yet
very deep in material. Today’s site is one that reflects that belief I
have quite well.
The name of the site is Connect Time, and it has some very nice things
going for it. The first thing that grabs me is the question they ask
about how much of you, the visitor, is available over the web. This
takes you to a tutorial page that leads one through an exercise on how
to find about yourself on the Internet. There are other exercise on this
page, including one on how to build a web page. There is a monthly
magazine, which features my favorite computer-based cartoon, The 5th
Wave (which is featured also in the “….for Dummies” books). There are
a lot of reader submitted articles, as well as regular features, such as
a cover story on three women, the Internet and a kidnapped boy. There is
a section called Fun Stuff that features items of interest for the
younger set, such as a Teenage Advice Online column.
Taken as a whole, this site has quite a lot to offer. It is subtle in
it’s approach, but quite effective in the delivery. Well worth visiting,
and a definite candidate for a bookmark in your browser.
