Chuck Norris’ Solution for Helping Our Schools – The Bible
April 14, 2011 No Comments
With so much national debate going on about “fairness” for teachers and the influence of unions in that debate, many times we forget the reason people become teachers…the education of our children, right?
In his most recent column, the legendary Chuck Norris takes on the education system and offers 7 solutions for improving the education system, one of which is to include the Bible in the public school curriculum.
In fact, according to Norris, 38 states have approved the National Council on Bible Curriculum in Public Schools’ course curriculum. This represents 572 school districts across the country and over 2,000 high schools.
“Ninety-three percent of school boards that have been approached to date with the curriculum have voted to implement it because the course helps students understand the Bible’s influence and impact on history, literature, our legal and educational systems, as well as art, archaeology and other parts of civilization,” writes Norris in his column. The best part – the class teaches from their textbook which is the Bible. Students actually read the Bible.
If you would like to approach your local school board about implementing this in your local high schools, please contact this office:

According to the Bible In Schools’ website, “The central approach of the class is simply to study the Bible as a foundation document of society, and that approach is altogether appropriate in a comprehensive program of secular education.” So instead of approaching this class as a way to create more Christians, it is a way to use the Bible for historical reference, as an academic text. This is most likely the reason why so many school districts are allowing this to be used in schools.
It will be interesting to watch what happens with this curriculum as more and more schools bring it in for their students. Please read Norris’ 6 other ideas he has for parents to help get our schools back to where we want them.
