chromasia

The internet is all about a lot of things, but one of the big ones is following your dream.
I can speak from personal experience here. In 1995, when I first took my baby steps out into the world of the web and Usenet, I fancied a new career in writing.
Well, while it’s not my primary way of bringing home the bacon, the fact is that I’ve been getting paid for my written musings since my first paid gig in 1996. It fills you with a special form of pride knowing that others find your thoughts worthy of financial compensation. But I digress . . .
Today’s FamilyFirst site is the result of an individual pursuing a dream by making his photographic skills public. And it has worked out nicely. Here are his own words:

It all started in July 2003 when I began to use some of my photographs to accompany the entries in a static weblog; a little later I set up a separate photoblog using Movable Type, which, on February 5th 2004, became chromasia. Since then I’ve had a number of commissions, licensed images to companies in Brazil, Holland, Romania, the UK and the US, have photographed a handful of weddings with John Washington, and have sold quite a number of prints.
The site is called chromasia, and if you appreciate any of the following: art, photography, composition, color coordination, subtle humor; then you will love this site.
Each day, David J. Nightingale of Blackpool, England posts a photograph which he has shot. I predict that you will be amazed and delighted by his sense of what constitutes a good image.
Browse his archives for a quick overlook of his style. The details are there as far as lens, aperture, exposure time, everything but film: he’s a digital guy.
Have fun.
