Bob Hope

He is one of our country’s greatest legacies. Ask any serviceman what the highlight of his overseas service was, and he will most likely reply seeing this person in person. He has been in the hospital lately, so today’s FamSite salutes him, and invites you to spend some time at his official website.

The site is called Bob Hope, and is named after the 98-year young comedian who has made more of us laugh than anyone else I can think of. Here at his site, you can learn how Leslie Towne Hope, born May 29th, 1903 in Eltham, England, became the world wide celebrity that he is today. You can follow his career in radio, television, movies, and vaudeville. He has transcended all mediums of entertainment, to the point he is a medium wherever he is, whether it is a golf course or a television studio. He has joked with every President since FDR, and at the same time, has befriended the dog face soldier in the foxholes who defended our country.

This is a wonderful site for a truly legendary human being, one whose name you only have to think of to bring a smile to your face. Thanks for the memories, Bob.
