Badge 714

Several weeks ago, one of our cable channels ran a weekend marathon of one of the most famous television shows of all time. It has become an example of film noir translated to the television screen, as well as a look at what our society was like in the 1950′s and 1960′s. I found a website that supports that show, and the following that is has.

The site is called Badge 714, and is a site dedicated to the show I am referring to, Dragnet. Badge 714 is the badge that the main character Joe Friday carried. The site is also a tribute to Jack Webb, the show’s creator, and his highly successful career in radio, television, and film. Here you can find gems that are legendary in television history, such as the Cooper Clapper Caper, and Christmas Dragnet. There are episode guides to not only the two successful runs on television, but radio as well. There are a lot of pictures and sound clips as well. This is a wonderful site, one that pays an honest and forthright tribute to a wonderful person, one who has transcended the humdrum of television reruns to become a genre and icon of the entertainment world.

So enjoy your stop here today, and be sure to tell a friend about this site. But remember to just give them the facts.
