Apollo Lunar Surface Journal

Today’s FamSite is one that brings back an air of nostalgia, yet is very innovative with its subject matter. The nostalgia is for those of us who lived through the Apollo moon flights, the cutting edge is for those of us who think it is time that we went back again, and even beyond.

Called the Apollo Lunar Surface Journals, this site is an extremely in-depth look at the Apollo space flights that landed men on the moon. It is more than just dry facts and figures, and a few pictures. It is a site that captures the excitement and adventure and technology of those journeys. You do see pictures, in the image library. But there are films and audio as well. There are in-depth looks at each mission, including the most fascinating feature, actual reproductions of the flight plans and checklists that were used on the missions. There are also some very revealing transcripts of the communications from the actual missions.

So if you have an interest in the last great exploration that mankind has made, a “one small step”, if you will, then head on over to this site. It will be a great way to spend some time. Enjoy your visit here.
