7 Tips To Get Ready for Super Bowl Sunday – And a Chance to Win!
January 31, 2011 1 Comment
It’s a busy week – Groundhog Day, Chinese New Year and the Super Bowl.
Football fans are getting ready for a classic match-up on Sunday – the Pack and the Steelers, two of football’s dynasty teams.
The Green Bay Packers have been around since 1919. They won 9 NFL Conference Championships before the Super Bowl began in 1966-7. The Packers won the very first Super Bowl Game against the Kansas City Chiefs and came back and won the second Super Bowl the following year against the Oakland Raiders. They have won a total of 3 Super Bowls and their most famous player is arguably Bret Favre who led the team’s win in 1997.
The Pittsburgh Steelers were originally called the Pirates back in 1933. The modern Steelers name was bestowed on the team in 1940. The ‘70s were a powerhouse era for the Steelers. During that decade, the team played in and won four Super Bowls and produced such greats as Franco Harris, “Mean” Joe Greene and Lynn Swann. Since then, the team has played in three additional Super Bowl games, winning two of the three.
These two teams have never played each other in a Super Bowl, until now!
Here are several party ideas and a chance to enter to win a fabulous prize while you watch these great teams (and of course the iconic advertising that goes along in-between plays).
- Create iron-on t-shirt transfers for each team. When your party guest arrive, give them the souvenir t-shirt of the team they’re rooting for.
- Make a tape line down the middle of your room and have each side’s fans sit apart.
- Buy some soft foam footballs to hurl at each other when your team makes a great play.
- For every ten fans, buy 5 six-packs – roughly 3 cans of soda or beer per person (adjust as necessary).
- Consider moving one of your other televisions into the room for better viewing options.
- Buy lots of disposable plates, napkins and utensils.
- Don’t forget the snacks – Kettle Brand Potato Chips, Emerald Deluxe Mixed Nuts and Pop Secret Brand popcorn are all fan favorites. Americans consume 11 million pounds of potato chips on Super Sunday!
If you think you deserve to be in the Party Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, enter to win a chance to be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. One lucky fan will win the contest, sponsored by Diamond Foods, Inc. and the Pro Football Hall of Fame. If you think you have what it takes, visit www.SnackBowl2011.com to find out more.
